Courtney Gilbert is our internal sexual health expert. With a rich history in urogynecology, she brings a fundamental understanding of women’s anatomy to our team, along with the distinct ability to discuss sensitive topics with confidence, empathy and a sense of pride.

Functional medicine and conventional medicine both thrive when the two fields work together. However, Courtney found herself wanting to spend more time with her patients throughout her 12 years in conventional medicine. She wanted to dig deeper into their unique stories and create solutions that didn’t always involve medications or temporary fixes. This is when she made the move to Donaldson Health. This is when functional medicine became her home.
Courtney offers patients a full host of solutions in her role as a Functional Medicine Physician Assistant. These often include hormone therapy, gut health optimization, weight management and more. She also uniquely performs O-shot treatments to improve a patient’s sex life and diVa laser procedures for vaginal rejuvenation.
Courtney’s Story: A Persistent Dedication To Women’s Health
While she originally called Carmel, Indiana home, she moved to Dublin, Ohio in 2000 and graduated from Marietta College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Health Science degree and a minor in psychology. Her next move took her to the University of Toledo where she became a Master of Science and Physician Assistant Studies in 2011. It was at this time that her interest in women’s health turned into the driving force behind her next career choices.
Over the next decade, Courtney gained invaluable, real-life experiences and carved out a bedside manner that makes even the most sensitive patients feel at home. She found the right solutions for countless individuals suffering from urinary incontinence struggles, sexual dysfunction, overactive bladder issues and so much more.
To expand her skills even further, she has also completed extensive training through the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).
